The Image Processing and Pattern Recognition Research Center is part of the Computer Science Department from the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca.Our main activities are research and teaching in the fields of Image Processing and Pattern Recognition, Computer Vision and Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Deep Learning based Perception , hardware design for image acquisition and processing.
We have reached state-of-the-art levels of expertise in the following directions:
- 2D and 3D Sensors based Perception;
- Stereovision for Driving Assistance Systems;
- Semantic, Instance and Panoptic Segmentation;
- Structure from Motion, Monocular Metric Depth Estimation, LiDAR and RADAR Processing;
- Geometry and Semantic Fusion, Object Detection, Recognition and Tracking, Environment Representation;
- Risk Assessment, Planning;
- Advanced Driving Assistance, Autonomous Vehicles and Drones;
- Intelligent Space Surveillance;
- Medical Image Processing.
- 4 research labs, 1 teaching lab, hardware and software for intensity, color and stereo image acquisition and processing.
